Hi, and welcome to our blog. Obviously if you’re reading this post – someone close to you or who you’ve maybe met at a networking event has suggested that you take a look at the Empower Network.

Blogging for Money and Leads Thing On My Own (WITHOUT EMPOWER !!!)

I Muted Out the Screams for Your Benefit!

Trust me when I tell you this.  It’s really true.

• I started blogging for leads and money 5 years ago.
• From scratch.
• First with Blogger.
• Then with WordPress.com
• Finally I moved to a self-hosted WordPress.org blog.
• Bought the domain name.
• Got my WordPress hosting up and running.
• And then came the plugins, the updates, the maintenance of the blog…

Setting up your e-Wallet.  Empower uses an “electronic wallet” or eWallet service to collect your commissions and pay them out to you via your bank account.  It’s sort of like Paypal, which I’m sure you are familiar with.   The charge for this is $19.95 per month, and this is a cost that runs on top of your $25 per month basic fee.

When you look at it right off, your new members may less than “jazzed” by this extra $19.95 fee.  When they ask about it, be sure to explain to them that Merchant Accounts (like Paypal) always take a cut for processing payments.  It’s like when a store asks  you to pay a set amount or above in order to use a credit card.  They are covering their merchant account fees.

On the whole, most regular Merchant accounts can cost upwards of $30-40 per month.  Ouch!

Yeah, I get it. But I Thought Paypal Was a Free Service?

In truth, Paypal takes a bite out of your “cash sandwich” just like the rest of them.  On average, Paypal takes as much as 4% out of each merchant transaction.

Let’s look at an example…

Say you refer an Empower Basic Membership + the Inner Circle and Costa Rica upsells for $625.   4% of that amount you just made is $25.  So, Paypal would then take $25 of your commission off the top, which is more than the Empower Network eWallet takes out.
