Why Replicated Websites Stink At Generating Online Leads
Let’s take a vote. Who things network marketing company replicated websites are awesome at generating online leads? Before you chime in, consider your own replicated site. Is it bringing you fresh leads every day? I’m going to take a wild stab and say that for most of you, the answer is no.
Now, I’m sure for nearly all of you, your replicated websites are great for sending people to when you speak with them about your primary opportunity. That’s what these sites are best at doing – providing a point of entry when someone needs to watch a quick video and for when they go to join your company. The back office features these replicated websites provide are also invaluable.
But for generating leads online, most if not all company replicated websites remain relatively ineffective. The question is… why?
Why Replicated Websites Are Poor Lead Generators
I was talking today with a new MLSP member today about his online marketing needs, and he shared with me his desire to begin generating more leads online. The first question I asked him was whether he was only using the lead capture forms on his company’s replicated website or if he also had a blog. When he told me his company replicated websites (they gave him a few different ones) were the only ones he had, I began my education session on why he needed a blog.
Company replicated websites are issued to every promoter who signs up. The only thing different about these sites from one promoter to the next is a prefix you load in at the beginning or end of the web address and a different contact name, phone, etc on the home page. Other than that, these replicated websites are virtually indistinguishable from one another.
What does Google love about duplicate content online? Answer… Nothing.
See, that’s the problem. From a Search Engine Optimization (SEO) standpoint, company replicated websites are pretty much a non-factor. Do they show up in Google at all? Of course they do. You may even see on on the first page of Google. But, I bet you won’t see more than one there. And, don’t you want as good a chance of getting your downline built as the guy that got it site in before you?
Of course you do. And you do this by starting your own blog. That’s right. A self-hosted, honest to goodness content creating machine. Without one, the chances of you having an endless stream of leads hitting your email every day are not looking too good my friend.
Blogs Beat Company Replicated Websites for Lead Generation
The reason blogs beat out company replicated websites for lead generation purposes is because they give you a shot at generating unique content that is targeted to get traffic in ways company replicated websites just aren’t. They allow you to truly brand yourself as a network marketing leader by sharing with your readers the lessons you learn along your own journey to financial riches.
Read a good book on leadership? Blog about it. Go to a company event and get some awesome tips for building a bigger downline? Blog about it. Have a conversation with someone who wants to get started with their own blog?
Get Your Butt Out There Online!
Look. I know for some of you reading this the idea of starting and writing your own blog every day or nearly every day seems overwhelming. I get that. It does take some work. But, when you follow the right online marketing system, it takes much less effort to maintain a kick butt online presence than you might think.
We’re about a year into it and are consistently bringing in 10 leads a day on average. Today I think we averaged 18 leads.
Imagine a day when you open your email and see 10 to 20 new fresh targeted leads in your email. You know that each of those leads got a message from you right when they opted in to get that killer give-away you offered them – welcoming them to your list and telling them about all the great training you’ll be giving them.
This is all possible.
