Social Media Marketing for Network MarketersSocial media marketing for network marketers is without question one of the sexiest or at least most attractive lures for those who feel that their warm market has “dried up.”  Though what I’m learning from mentors like Ray Higdon and Jerry Clark is that we can truly never run out of people to talk to – I do concede that marketing or more importantly – branding yourself using social media tools is an absolute must for any serious networker.

This said, I’m concerned with the number of people who – like I did early on – charge through the gates of social media marketing like raging bulls with firecrackers tied to their special places.  No doubt you have these kind people populating your friend stream on Facebook with photos of their primary company’s products, testimonies to how great their products are, and invitations to “PM” them for details on how you, too can become financially free if you just join their company.

Social Media Marketing for Network Marketers Gone Wrong

Ray Higdon and I are in the same primary opportunity. As part of his fast start training, he begs and pleads with newly “minted” promoters to refrain from jumping on email and Facebook and blasting their friends with the classic “Hey guys, join my company!  We’re all gonna be rich!” message.

So, what’s the best way to work the social media for network marketers angle without being ‘de-friended’ by your current Facebook Peeps?

Well, there are definite “DO’s” and definite “DONT’S” where prospecting and following up with leads on Facebook are concerned.  Google Plus is also an area where you want to be sure and follow some etiquette.

You want to ease into conversations, form or re-establish relationships and engage with your customers in a way where you opportunity comes up naturally.  Whether it’s seeking out a specific pain point they have about finances, family, or whatever – the key is to let things flow as naturally as possible.
